Music I listen to

I listen to a lot of different types of music and it depends on what mood I'm in that decides what I listen to. I like classic rock when I'm on the road traveling to a fishing or hunting spot. In terms of classic rock, I'll pretty much listen to it all because it's some of the best music there is. I can listen to country every now and again, but only for a little while. I listened to country too much and now it has gotten a little old. I listen to some new music but a lot of it isn't as good. I think the song that goes with my profile would have to be "Bad to the Bone" by George Thorgood.

Interesting facts about me

My Bio:
I'm a senior at Powhatan High and a freshman at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. At high school, I am the President of the Powhatan Senior FFA Chapter and I am also the President of the Powhatan Pro Casters youth fishing club. I'm not 100% sure why I decided to be the president for both these organizations but it may look good on a college application. At home, I tend to work on my college assignments that I have to do or I relax. When I'm outside, you'll find me fishing or hunting depending on the time of the year. I've been fishing for about 15 years so far but I started tournament fishing when I was 15. My dad bought our first BassCat in Feb. 2007 and we've had a lot of fun fishing out of it. I plan to transfer into Virginia Tech after next year and join their fishing club while I'm there.
Fishing:
Like I said, I started tournament fishing in Aug. of 2006 and have had a good time fishing with the youth. I won the first tournament I fished with the youth on Oct. 1, 2006 and haven't come close since. image In terms of age, I'm one of the few "old" guys who are still fishing and this will be my final year. I'll fish the state championship and I'll age out of the youth program. From there I don't know what I'll do but I look forward to seeing what the future brings. I've had more fun with the youth program than I can tell you. Being a volunteer with the youth has been more fun than I would have imagined. Being raised in the fishing world, I had never experienced how few kids are actually involved in fishing; in some form or another. In one instance, my dad and I worked a youth casting event at a local boat show. This particular event was open to the public and kids could come and learn to flip, pitch, and cast. It was shocking to see how few had been fishing before and it was an eye-opener for me. I guess I figured most kids have been fishing at least once or twice. My dad has put more time into the youth program than I have because he is the "club contact" for the Powhatan Pro Casters. This means that any news pertaining to the youth program comes through him. His main goal however, is to allow our club to go fishing somewhere to have fun. There aren't many places around here but he's done a good job of keeping us fishing. After I've aged out of the youth program, my dad and I will still fish but with college coming up I'll have a lot less time to do so. Hopefully, while I'm at Virginia Tech I will be able to join their fishing club and fish collegiate tournaments with them. However, with my previous tournament record I'm not sure they'll want me to join.image

My Future Career: I would like to go to Virginia Tech and major in Architecture so that one day I can design my own houses and such. I'd like to build something that becomes famous to some degree so that I have a legacy to leave behind. In high school, I've already designed one house and am getting ready to begin another one. My next house is going to be challenging because I'm going to design something more difficult. I am trained to draft with paper and pencil, and now I am learning to use a CAD program that can do plenty of neat things. The coolest thing is the ability to draft a house in 2-D, then have the program construct a 3-D model so that I can see what it'll look like when built. As of right now, I am not sure if I want to specialize in residential or commercial construction. I'd rather be a residential architect but as a commercial architect I would be able to get a larger salary. However, money isn't really a factor for me because I just want a building of mine to be special. My Website: Please visit my website www.bassgossip.com and tell me what you think. The website has not been up long but I need some viewer feedback about what the website needs. Thanks!
